Project - Ranch in South Texas. Bathroom vanity and tub with a shou sugi ban finish. The Shou sugi ban finish is a Japanese technique. We use a yellow cypress and burn it to get the alligatoring look to the grain. Then it is finished with a marine varnish.

The kitchen has an island finished with a special stain on white oak. Cabinet doors are made from blackened steel frames holding satine glass panels and shelving finished with a seed-pearl white lacquer.  Both the cabinet frames and the vent-a-hood were constructed in coordination with RCF by Cactus Max Fine Metal Artwork of San Antonio. Project won the Texas State Architects Design Award for 2014.

The cabinetry is Quartersawn White Oak with a dead flat lacquer finish. The Island top is East Indian Rosewood.

 The Children's Room - The children’s bunk room with blackened steel bunk-beds and desk (Won the Texas State Architects Design Award for 2014)

Desk with view from the Study. Finished in seed pearl white lacquer with ebonized walnut top, the desk complements the interior design. This project was featured in the April 2014 issue of Architectural Digest and has won the Texas State Architects Design Award for 2014.

Desk and bookcase. The bookcase is made of Ebonized Walnut and blackened steel. The back of the bookcase is seed pearl lacquer. The library ladder was custom made by Kirby Sheet Metal and we blackened the steel. The wall panels are horsehair. This project was featured in the April 2014 issue of Architectural Digest and has won the Texas State Architects Design Award for 2014.

The desk is made of Ash and the piano attaches to it for the songwriter.

A Rift Oak Banquette

RCF makes the Stephen Bruton Award designed by Mark Gunderson - presented by the Lone Star Film Society, Fort Worth, Texas. The award is named after legendary Texas musician Stephen Bruton and celebrates musicians who demonstrate a proficiency in music.
